This Could Be The Year!

I Thessalonians 4:16-17
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

2020........
What if 2020 is the year that we see, understand, and experience the truth of what the passage from I Thessalonians says?
Don't hear a lot of teaching about Christ's return anymore.
I'm sure there are some who still preach on this.
I'm sure that there are heart out there beating, waiting, and watching.....
Yet all the while carrying out the duties given to them by their heavenly Father.

What if 2020 was such a year?
I look around at the state of our nation...
Anger...
Hatred....
Divisiveness...
Selfishness
Greed....
A disdain for anything to do with God and yet, at the same time, a chasing after all manner of false gods in an effort to be spiritual.
Hmm.... Didn't Israel already to this and it didn't turn out to good for them?
What a marriage is has been turned upside down...
The concept of family....ditto...upside down also....
Babies?
Well, you either love them or you don't.
If you love babies then you nurture them, love them, teach them in the ways of God.
If you do't love babies...then you don't even call them babies.
They become fetal tissue.
The are expendable....

Such a view as this puts us right up there with those who worshiped Molech.
Ouch!
Did I say that out loud?
Truth is, It would not break my heart at all if the Father decided that 2020 was the year to call us home.

On the other hand, when I think of all of the people still out there, trapped in sin/addiction, I'm not so sure that I am ready.
Someone needs to let them know about the love of God.
Someone needs to let them know about the mercy and grace of God.
Someone needs to lead them to the forgiveness of God.

So while I pray and hope that 2020 is THE year....
I will continue to reach out into that darkness and (As the book of Jude tell us) "snatch others out of the fire."

By the way, verse 18 of the I Thessalonians passage says this:
"Therefore comfort one another with these words."

I think maybe that is what I will do.
How about you?

God on you...
